Long and Partners Building Services Consultants are a professional design management and consultancy practice situated in the City of London close to Liverpool Street and Bank Stations. We have a wide degree of experience over a varied range of business sectors. Our self-motivated staff provide a professional service offering a choice of solutions compatible with today’s complex environmental issues.
In addition to our traditional mechanical, electrical and public health design, we have specialists within our practice to undertake all aspects of vertical transportation, IT design and commissioning consultancy. We also offer a full project management service, including cost control, architectural, structural engineering support and planning supervision.

Organisation
Long and Partners employs in the region of 70 staff. We offer Professional training for staff through Universities, Colleges, training courses and CPD, this ensures the technical ability of the practice to design complex and sophisticated projects, as well as the more straightforward commissions.
Directors, Associate Directors and Senior Management of the Practice have during their careers been in senior management positions with national and international consultants and contractors, and therefore have considerable experience in design and contract administration of projects both in the UK and overseas. This experience is particularly useful in understanding client's requirements and programme demands to suit any construction programme in an efficient manner.
If required, our CAD database is able to provide information for the benefits of the development occupier to assist his facilities Management systems. Maintainable services in accordance with Statutory Regulations are paramount in our design and Quality Engineering System Management Procedures.
In addition our Project Management expertise, commissioning consultancy, maintenance and customer support services for all sizes of Building Services installations, including fast track projects, is second to none.
When required, site based teams can be provided to co-ordinate the installation workmanship, standards, material specifications and manage the commissioning during the installation phase. The Practice emphasises the importance of Health and Safety in both its designs and the future maintenance of the Services installations. Particular attention is paid to ensure comprehensive operating and maintenance and record drawing documentation is provided on each project
Design Expertise
We recognise the importance of 'green' issues and encourage the design of building services to comply with British Council of Offices recommendations and the Building Research establishments Environmental Assessment Method Recommendations.
To provide successful solutions a sound understanding of all the environmental engineering principals, combined with a practical engineering outlook, is required. The early appreciation of the Client's needs is essential, combined with a sound knowledge of the nature and range of activities to be carried out within the building.
