Ian Watts

Managing
Director

Ian is a widely experienced building services engineer, having worked with leaders in both the contracting and consultancy fields. He is well versed with the commercial issues associated with the building process, and maintains close control over the details of designs produced by the Practice.

Ian’s expertise encompasses many sectors of the industry, including commercial and public sector buildings, healthcare, education and pharmaceuticals. He can offer an in-depth technical and commercial knowledge of environmentally friendly air conditioning techniques, including desiccant de-humidification, chilled beams and chilled ceilings. In addition to his technical abilities, Ian’s strong management style has proved invaluable in the implementation of fast track projects, where he has earned an enviable reputation for achieving ‘on time, within budget’ results.

An Associate of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers, Ian has built a position of status within the industry.

Peter Crowhurst

Executive
Director

Peter is a Chartered Engineer with an honours degree in electrical and electronic engineering, and holds membership of numerous professional bodies. He can offer the benefits of his extensive experience in both contracting and consultancy, which has included many major projects in the UK and worldwide.

Peter’s innate drive and commitment to Client satisfaction is well known, and has served him well in the execution of complex projects to tight programmes.

His comprehensive knowledge of the technical, financial and risk control issues associated with high resilience power supply and distribution systems has gained him a reputation as an expert in these fields. He has designed and managed many significant projects, ranging from financial dealing houses, shopping malls, distribution centres, schools and hospitals, through to large residential schemes.

Peter has developed techniques for the implementation of information technology within the built environment and has lectured to his fellow professionals on this subject.

NEIL BLUNDY

Director

Neil has a proven track record within the building services industry.  He has extensive experience in the management of projects and producing design packages that meet the expectations of his Clients’.

Neil utilises his many years of working as part of a large design team for a major contracting company to bring his commercial awareness to the forefront of his designs.

Neil’s experience encompasses many sectors of the industry including commercial, pharmaceutical and education projects.  Neil’s hand’s on approach to management of projects ensures he is involved from concept to successful completion, thus ensuring client satisfaction.


 
 

Will Foster

Director

A progressive career which has provided a highly developed professional working knowledge of the Engineering environment. Experience has been gained operating from both practical and administrative standpoints on multi-millon pound contracts in the UK and abroad. 

Appointments have included those of Senior Contract Engineer, Senior Project Engineer and Building Engineering Manager. Responsibilities have encompassed diverse aspects of Management, including control of design, Co-ordination and supervision of installations, estimating, tender surveys and preparation of bids. Liaison at all levels, planning and preparations, preparation of drawings, material take-off, evaluation of quotations and subsequent placing of orders, quality control through to final accounts, testing, commissioning and maintenance of documentation systems.

Will has been a key member of staff for the past 10 years and has delivered many complex projects.

 

 

Kyron Lewis

Electrical
Associate

Kyron started his career as a Electrical Contractor at Bellwest Electrical Contractors and London Borough of Islington, gaining knowledge and experience in electrical contracting field.

His career progressed into electrical consultancy working for Oscar Faber (AECOM) and Scott Wilson (URS Scott Wilson).  During his time at these consultancies he worked on various projects including new build projects, office refurbishments, pharmaceutical containment, laboratories, Military installations for USAF, schools, London Fire Brigade, young offender secure units, university refurbishment projects, data simulation laboratories and conditional surveys.

Kyron joined Long and Partners in November 2011 and since has been involved in several projects which draw in his wide experience in the electrical engineering industry.

 

Tim Hiscutt

Public Health
Associate

Tim is our Associate Public Health Director with over 30 years experience in the Building Services industry. During his career Tim has gained a wide range of experience of projects in the varying areas of the construction industry, including commercial, leisure, education, retail, residential and rail.

He is responsible for the design and management of the Public Health Services for Long and Partners this includes underground drainage, sanitation and rainwater disposal systems, hot and cold water supplies including water treatment, sprinkler systems, hosereel and wet/dry riser installations.

He is also fully conversant with BREEAM requirements with regard to water supplies and has experience of all aspects of SUDS including rainwater and grey water system re-use.

Shirome Bhandari

MECHANICAL
ASSOCIATE

Shirome is a Chartered Engineer with a Masters degree in Building Services Engineering. He has 10 years experience in Building Services Engineering and has worked on a wide range of projects across a number of sectors such as: commercial, residential, educational, retail, hotel and health sectors.

His approach is to provide simple energy efficient, sustainable and robust solutions to complex and challenging projects.

Shirome has good communication skills is able to explain complex concepts and ideas clearly and concisely. He can meet with clients in order to prepare initial design brief and concept proposals for new projects.

Shirome qualified as a CIBSE accredited Low Carbon Consultant in 2013 and is driven to provide sustainable solutions for all projects.

André Jonker

MECHANICAL
ASSOCIATE

André is an enthusiastic and naturally driven engineer with over 20 year experience of various aspects of building services engineering design that encompass both HVAC and Public Health design. A skilled engineer who has worked on many and often complex projects in the past and have been involved in the successful delivery of many of these projects.

André has good communication skills and an engineer who is passionate in incorporating innovative and sustainable energy system design on his projects. He is a practical engineer with attention to detail and who believes in obtaining the most suitable solution for each unique project.

André has gained experience of working on large and iconic international design projects and performing the role of lead mechanical engineer on several of these projects. This included Jumeirah Wellness Resort in Dubai with HOK Architects, Tripoli Towers in Libya and The Peoples Conference Hall in Libya with Zaha Hadid Architects.

André was also a co-author on a Published Paper – Applied Thermal Comfort Control (SET 2015 Submission 16)

Sasi Natarajan

ELECTRICAL
Associate

Sasi started his career as an Electrical Engineer at G. K. Salter’s Building Services Consultancy, thus gaining knowledge of electrical services design.  During his time at G. K. Salter he worked in various Home Office, Schools and Office Refurbishment projects and gained his Electrical Engineering knowledge in Lighting, Small Power, Fire Alarm, Lightning Protection and UPS systems.

Sasi joined Long and Partners in May 2001 and since has taken on numerous projects utilising his organised and analytical mind to help ensure that project deadlines and Client requirements are met within fast track environments.

He has worked on a range of prestigious projects including the Westfield Shopping Centre for which he won an award for interior lighting design.

Peter Whatmough

Associate
Director

Peter commenced his career within the electrical contracting industry where he worked for larger Contractors such as Marryat Jackson Norris and Matthew Hall. In his senior positions he has gained a wealth of experience covering all aspects of the industry. His particular skills include Project Management and the ability to work closely with all members of design and project teams.

Peter joined Long and Partners in 1999 as an Associate Director.

He has worked on a wide variety of contracts covering industrial, commercial, domestic, local authority and military installations. For the last eighteen years he has worked within the Building Services Consultancy area where he has extended his knowledge of mechanical and Public health services which has enabled him to fulfil a Project Management role for numerous and varied mechanical and electrical Engineering projects, with a detailed and practical understanding.


 

Jon Lopez

SENIOR

ENGINEER

After finishing his studies at Industrial Engineers University in Bilbao (Spain) in 2002, Jon started to work for one of the leading Spanish Engineering consultancies (SENER) where he gained electrical knowledge and experience in the industrial and civil fields. During this time he acquired expertise in MV and LV electrical distribution systems, electrical protection and UPS systems.

In 2008 Jon joined Long and Partners where he has developed his understanding of Building Services Engineering, developing his skills and knowledge in lighting, fire alarms systems, lightning protection, generators and SCADA controls systems design.

He has extensive experience of commercial office, residential and pharmaceutical both new build and refurbishment projects.

 

Paul Stubbs

Senior
Mechanical
Engineer

In 1999, Paul successfully completed a four year Building Services degree.

In the period 1997 to 1998 Paul worked for RTJ Environmental Services as an M&E Design Engineer. During this period he gained significant experience in the design and co-ordination of services. He become proficient with the application of Engineering Software including Hevacomp and ‘Cymap’ design programme’s and AutoCad.

Following the completion of his degree he went on to join Long and Partners in the autumn of 1999. 

Paul is responsible for Mechanical Design with an active role from feasibility, production of detailed design drawings, tender documentation, through to witnessing and commissioning of air and water systems.

He has extensive experience of commercial office, residential and retail, new build and refurbishment projects.

Paul has also undertaken designs for Pharmaceutical, Education and Healthcare project works for both the end user Client and main contractor Client. The various projects have involved heavily serviced buildings such as Pharmaceutical through to low energy building designs incorporating mixed mode systems such as those used in schools

Toby Crowhurst

Engineer

Toby started his career with MITIE Built Environment obtaining a HNC in Building Services Engineering. Whilst with MITIE Toby fulfilled a number of career developing roles, these included, Designing, Assisting Project Manager & Estimating securing a number of projects.

Whilst fulfilling these roles he gained knowledge of Lighting, Power, Lighting Control Systems, Voice/Data & Fire Alarm Systems, both within the design & installation stages.

Toby then joined Long & Partners in July 2013, since joining he has worked as part of a team on a number of residential & commercial projects preparing calculations and detailed designs.
